We met Ashley by happenstance, actually.  She had recently moved to Savannah from California and had embraced so many of our Southern flavors.  At the time, she was completely overwhelmed by the natural beauty of Savannah and hired us to photograph her and her son amidst that beauty.  When we photographed Mills and her those few years ago, we never could have imagined what a beautiful day was on the horizon.

Ashley’s presence is radiant, loving, and kind.  Her happiness is complete as the love of her life, Timothy, recently came home safely from Afghanistan.  While we photographed their wedding those few days ago, we still felt like we were celebrating with them because of how kind and inclusive they both are.  They chose the Harper Fowlkes House as the backdrop for their intimate ceremony which was witnessed by their closest family and friends.  The emotion of their day couldn’t be hidden with the sweetness of all their moments in the air.

So what is this film?  Technically, it’s digital and not film.  So what is it?  Let’s start with what it’s not:  This project is not a wedding “video”.  It more closely resembles a film just because it’s a deliberate, pre-visualized effort by a team of creative professionals to make something beautiful through the art of motion capture and edit.  So much planning, experience, and effort went in to the project and that’s mostly why it’s so special to us.  The actual capture process was handled this go around by Josh Branstetter of Jabberpics, Derek Scearce, Juwan Platt, and Keith Bradshaw. The edit was carefully assembled by Rodrigo Zozaya.  Veta and I took care of most of the pre-wedding day management and production of the project.  And I dare say that we can’t wait to get our boots deeper in the mud on the next project.

About the film:  Kelly and Wyatt saw our Singing in the Rain project many months ago and knew that they wanted something out of the box for their wedding day.  We were honored that they chose us for a couple of reasons.  1. Anytime someone trusts you to capture their wedding day visually, it’s a huge compliment.  There’s much at stake and you’d better get things right.  And 2. It’s fair to say that these two are really close to a creative industry themselves and to be chosen by them made us want to excel even more.  As you’ll see in the film, Kelly and Wyatt are irrefutably in love and their vows reflect it.  Crafted straight from their souls, those vows exchanged by these two make the sentimental married folks among us melt back into the nostalgia that was our own first day being joined to our own true loves.

We hope you enjoy watching as much as we do.

The post Authenticity Brought To Life – An Enchantingly Rustic Wedding appeared first on Azelle Photography.

Well, all of us – Kristin, Dustin, and ourselves included had to have an extra measure of patience to wait for the release of their engagement film scheduled for their wedding day itself. Since, they just got married four hours ago, the wait is over and we now can share their engagement story with the world. The film was captured at the Woodlawn Plantation  in Guyton, Georgia, and we will wait to give it props for the beauty of the scenery that’s’ full of curiosities in our wedding post. We also photographed their engagement session at the same location, if you remember. The photographs and the film were intended to go hand in hand in terms of the storyline. You see, Kristin and Dustin got engaged over a Christmas season, when Dustin proposed while they decorated a tree together. We couldn’t re-enact the engagement without it being awkward, so we put our spin on it. Woodlawn Plantation had a pear tree growing on the property, and we pretended as pears were “Christmas ornaments” of sorts. Without further talk, take a look at their love story. Congratulations, Kristin & Dustin! We wish you many exciting years ahead!

For one thing, Trevice and Landon are so totally in love with each other that you’d have to be blind and deaf not to notice.  Even then, we’re pretty sure you’d feel it somehow.  The way they looked at each other, stood together, how Trevice leaned on him, how everything Landon did seemed to be done with pleasing Trevice in mind… And both of their friends and families – they were such a pleasure to work with.  They were loose enough to have a great time, yet entirely reverent when the time called for it.  Nothing ever felt rushed or unplanned.  The wedding details were so “low country” in every way:  natural, tastefully understated, and rustic.  There were strategically located “wedding” signs along the way to the venue (which we couldn’t help but stop and photograph).  The little Catholic church was simply divine.  There was plenty of time built in to their schedule for relaxing (and for us to photograph).  The reception rocked, literally, with live and totally rad music.

But we’re photographers right?  So let’s talk weather, settings, a good looking couple, and all the other things that make for beautiful photographs!  Better yet, let’s look:
