Alana’s First Birthday Party
This weekend we celebrated a special young lady’s very first birthday. We’ve all been waiting for this day for longer than we care to remember. However, all of the waiting was over on Saturday and the day for party-ing was here. Alana, our niece, did not disappoint. Turns out, she’s a real cake devouring, icing covered, gift wrap-ripping party animal. I suppose it comes naturally :)

The theme from Alana’s party was “Winnie the Pooh and Friends”. Alana is already taking to Pooh and the gang from the hundred acre wood.
We all had hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and all the fixin’s. Alana was no different on this birthday. Hers just took the form of “chunks”.
Loving Family, Good Food, and Birthday Cake Anticipation are the ingredients for one happy baby!
We all sang “Happy Birthday” as Alana admired her cake (and candle). Daddy was just quick enough to blow it out for her before she put her finger in it!
Alana had never tasted Birthday Cake before and from the looks below, the texture was new to her as well. I think you know what’s coming next!
This cake deserves a round of applause. After eating for a short period, Alana stopped and began to clap. These Birthdays surely are big fun.
Here’s a shot of Ground Zero after the 22 lb Champ was cut loose on what once was a cake!
We caught up with the Champ in the showers after the bout. When asked what she thought about the K.O., she had one word for us: ”Bath”
After a quick clean-up, it was “Present Time”. Alana was excited about the presents (or at least the packaging) and it showed. Here are some shots of her getting the job done!

Thank you so much!! The pictures are unbelievable and are priceless reminders of a beautiful day! I never would have thought to capture the cake after she finished with it, but that is one of my favorites! I was able to relax totally yesterday–knowing that you two were capturing all the best moments and the emotions behind them. Thank you for being not only wonderful photographers but also an adoring aunt and uncle to Alana. We love you both very much.

I would give almost anything if we had memories captured of you, Jason, and Joanna as the two of you were growing up. Alana is just so blessed. She has soooo many people who love her, and will have the pictures to prove it. I am especially grateful for the one of the four generations. You and Veta just never cease to bless and amaze me. Daddy and I love you two more than we could ever express.
The pictures are beautiful! Wow Alana is growing up way too fast. She is a blessed little girl to have the two of you as an aunt and uncle. I know the entire family will cherish these pictures. You two continue to do amazing work - as always I enjoy looking at your photography.
