This post is quite special to us. We’ve known Jennifer for quite some time and just can’t say enough good things about her. It is no surprise that Jeffrey has become special, too. One of the main reasons is that he knows how to keep a treasure when he finds one. Jennifer and Jeffrey’s wedding is coming up very soon in October.
This weekend, we traveled to Milledgeville to photograph their engagement session. For us, it was a bit of a trip down to the memory lane since we moved from Milledgeville five years ago. For Jennifer and Jeffrey, the locations of the photoshoot provided a backdrop filled with memories and dreams alike. In this post, we’ve attempted to present the photographs threaded together by some common theme. Many times, as in this shoot, we really don’t have a theme in mind going in. But as we uploaded the files and looked for “teasers” to show, several common themes began to emerge – Natural beauty of one’s homeland, natural beauty of two people in love, the glow inside of people, and a strong sense of home. When viewing these images, we get a sense of looking at an “all-American” couple in a small Southern town, U.S.A.
What clued us in? Well, you see the glimpses into the couple’s heritage when Jennifer incorporated her grandmother’s quilt into a picnic in front of the home Jeffrey grew up in. We see the landscapes that Jeffrey now wants Jennifer to be a part of for the rest of his life. These two are the future Waddells. Can’t wait for their big day and to share in that joyous occasion. Until then, please enjoy this reflection on their relationship as we captured it during one hot summer day in July.
