I met Ashley only weeks ago, but it seems I’ve known her forever. She is one of the sweetest people I’ve met in quite some time. She asked me if we could photograph her family session, which included portraits of her with her son Mills – an abundantly loving, funny, and energetic 3-year old boy who simply adores his Mama. If our photographs captured only a small portion of their bond, we count it as a success. It is an ambitious undertaking to capture love in imagery.
Ashley, originally from California, is a recent “Savannian”. One of the things she wanted to share with her family 3,000 miles away was the beauty of Savannah. We photographed the session at Forsyth Park, a very frequently photographed location. On one hand, Forsyth can be very recognizable. On another – it is a very versatile place, offering the simple elements that come to mind when you think of Savannah – the moss, the oaks, the outdoors to come out and play, the flowering shrubs that paint the face of the town every spring, the outlines of the world-famous fountain.
One of the wardrobe staples of the session was the grandfather’s tie, the full meaning of which is close to Ashley’s heart.

A photo session as special as this one required the attention of several special ladies and one fantastic little gentleman.
We hope you enjoyed these “teaser” shots. Please leave the comments for Ashley and family to cherish – this was their very special time together.
